We celebrated our First Anniversary on June 12, 2014. and we continue as a busy LGBTQ Community Group on the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Our Most Recent Events

July 12, 2014

The First Annual Panhandle PRIDE was held at Morgan's Grove Park in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, after months of planning at Leetown Methodist Church.  Attendance is believed to have exceeded 450 celebrants. The Celebration included over 40 vilunteers, including the seven members of the Panhandle Alliance Event Committee, a volunteer Deejay, JerrBear, and several drag performers.  The Mayor of Shepherdstown sent a spokesperson, Lori Robertson, to kick off the festivities, and Delegate Stephen Skinner sent a representative, Kevin Carden to read a statement to congratulate the Alliance for all the work that went into planning the celebration.

The Annual "Farewell to Summer Picnic" at Moulton Park had The CLUB in Martinsburg provide music, te celebaret the change of seasons

November, 2013

The Eastern Panhandle LGBTQ Alliance President, John Mason, addressed the audience and joined several area LGBTQ Organizations that sponsored a Information tables at the juried presentation of "Dog Meet God" at Martinsburg High School

November 16, 2013

The Annual Panhandle LGBTQ Alliance Family Thanksgiving Dinner and Celebration was held at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church

In November, 2014, The Eastern Panhandle LGBTQ Alliance participated in the "Peace Fest" at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church. Alliance President, John Mason, spoke at the event about several support organizations for the LGBTQ Community, including Morelight Presbyterians, Fairness West Virginia, Baltimore Washington Area Reconciling Methodists (BWARM), and others. An Information table was manned by Alliance member, Marla Seymour..

Shepherd ALLIES Weekly Meetings

Meetings for the 2014-2015 university year began September 3, 2014 in the Student Center at 7:00. Many Wednesdays in 2013, and Mondays in 2014, the Eastern Panhandle LGBT Alliance participated in the Shepherd University Allies (LGBTQ) Student Group
